The GOP Balkan Tendencies
Byron A. Ellis – December 27, 2008

CNN reports that a candidate for the Republican National Committee chairmanship sent a CD to committee members for Christmas, which included a song titled "Barack the Magic Negro."

CNN reports that Salstman, who apparently sent the CD, was national campaign manager for former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee's presidential bid in 2007 and 2008. CNN also indicates that he held a number of positions under former Sen. Bill Frist of Tennessee.

It is unfortunate that Republicans, such as Salstman, confronted with rapidly changing demographics are still clinging to the obnoxious philosophy of dividing Americans.

WAKE UP Republicans and look at the world, it is changing, adapt or become extinct.

The CNN article suggests that voters voted for Obama because they felt guilty about the nation's history of mistreatment of African-Americans.

Such argument is one more validation as to why Republicans lost the election and sheds light on their analytical ability.

People voted for President-elect Barack Obama because he appeared to be more competent than the GOP candidate.

The Republicans predisposition to justify why they lost the election is an empty proposition. Rather, they should develop strategies that offer effective solutions to the problems and challenges confronted by all Americans.

In a nutshell, the GOP lost because of poor governance. The invasion of Iraq, a critical decision, appeared to be based on personal and family preferences. Additionally, the inability of the Republican administration to effectively manage the economy signaled incompetence.

Thus, it was the performance of the GOP that voters rejected.
