China on the Move By Byron A. Ellis, May 01,2008 According to La Nación, China is in the process of donating a $72 million dollars National Stadium to Costa Rica. Approximately 800 Chinese citizens will work on the project in La Sabana, San José. Oswaldo Pandolfo said that the Chinese workers would arrive in October and star working in November. |

China’s business acumen can be compared to a skillful ballet dancer. They are building economic relations with Africa and Latin America, the regions that the United States has long neglected.
American policy makers need to remove their blinders and begin to compete for business relationships with Africa and Latin America.
China recognizes that Africa and Latin America are great sources of raw material as well as an outlet for finished goods.
We ought not to be surprised when the Chinese begin solidifying their relationship with Middle Eastern countries that America does not want to engage with.
Thus, in couple years the Chinese would have built good trading relationships with most of the countries that the United States has neglected.
The Chinese are not pouring money in a war of choice, so they can use their funds to develop relationships and solidify raw materials and markets.
The Chinese are winning the economic chess game. The question that we should ask is what are the consequences of a Chinese economic checkmate and how can we prevent it?
