Japan Hunting Humpback Whales

Byron A. Ellis

November 19, 2007

The Japanese whaling fleet has instruction to slaughter up to 1,000 whales; their intention is to kill 50 humpback and 50 fin whales. The humpback whales have been protected from extinction since the mid-1960s.

The Greenpeace organization is hoping to locate the Japanese whaling fleet in order to shoot a video footing and put themselves between the Japanese fleet harpoons and the whales. But, it appears that the whaling fleet has turned of their identification equipment, so they cannot be found.

If Japan wants to play games with the international community and slaughter, consumers in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia should punish the Japanese by not purchasing their products.

Responsible consumers are stewards of the world resources and should no longer permit irresponsible governments and corporate leaders to destroy the environment.
